Bridport, VT Eleanor Blacklock Huestis Mrs. Eleanor B. Huestis, 84, died Friday evening October 1, 2010 at Helen Porter Healthcare & Rehab after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She was born January 12, 1926 in Middlebury the daughter of Leon & Ruth (Payne) Blacklock. She married Daniel Huestis September 21, 1945 in West Addison; together they owned and operated the Huestis Dairy Farm and Huestis Farm Supply for many years. Eleanor was a member of the West Addison United Methodist Church, the Bridport Grange #303 and the Bridport Historical Society. She was very active for seventeen years with the Bridport School District and was instrumental with forming the Bridport School lunch program and later the breakfast program. She and her husband were active in the creation of the Tri-Town Water District. Survivors are her children, Arthur & his wife Joan, of Bridport, Richard & his wife Shizu, of South Burlington, Ronald & his wife Lisa, of Cottage Grove, TN, Deborah Ploof & her husband Arthur, of Bridport and Sherrie Coombs & her husband Richard, of East Syracuse, NY. She is also survived by her 23 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel Huestis who died May 22, 1987, by her brothers, William and Stuart Blacklock. Memorial Services will be held at 1 PM on October 12th at Bridport Grange Hall on RT 22A in Bridport. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
