Dorothy L. Leggett, 76, a longtime resident of Middlebury, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in New Haven November 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Floyd F. and Bessie H. (Downing) Gould.
Dot was a homemaker and was employed as a cook at Helen Porter Healthcare for several years. She attended Memorial Baptist Church of Middlebury.
She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards with her friends.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Middlebury.
Surviving family members include two sons, Frank A. Leggett, Jr. and his wife Roberta of Lincoln and George J. Leggett of Middlebury; three daughters, Joanne A. Prior and her husband David of Cornwall, Lynn M. Spence and her husband Mike of Appleton, WI and Charlotte M. Deering of Middlebury; one sister, Beatrice Ramsey of Burlington; eleven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren.
Dot was predeceased by her husband, Frank A. Leggett who died June 8, 2006 and a brother, Howard.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM Friday, December 16, 2011 at Prospect Cemetery, East Middlebury with Pastor John Kaufman, youth pastor at Victory Baptist Church officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Addison County Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753.
