SHOREHAM- Doris (Wimett) Brisson
Doris (Wimett) Brisson passed away on Friday, June 1,2012 at home after a long illness.
She was born on December 2, 1928 in Bridport, the daughter of Ernest and Ethel (Nadeau) Wimett.
Doris graduated from Middlebury High and became a hairdresser.
She married the love of her life, Robert Brisson, in 1953. Together they ran a dairy farm in Shoreham and had three children of whom she was very proud.
In her later years, she became a prolific painter. She loved her family, cooking, her home, Border collies and birds.
After retiring from the farm, she chose to work at Woodware in Middlebury and volunteered at Neat Repeats as well as the Shoreham Library.
She is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Connie and her husband David Carroll, son Neil and his wife Meg, son Randall and his wife Kathleen and grandchildren Alicia Bourdeau, Katrina Breen, Tad Brisson, Sam Brisson, Nate Brisson, Kit Brisson, Ben Brisson, Jack Brisson and five great granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to a Charity of ones choice.
There will be no visitation.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated onTuesday at 1 PM at St. Genevieves Catholic Church in Shoreham. The Rev. William Beaudin will serve as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Genevieves Cemetery.
