Obituary

BRANDON- Donald C. Longaway, 79, of Jones Drive, died Monday, August 25, 2008 at his home. Born in Bridgewater November 14, 1928, he was the son of the late John E. and Lillian A. (Butler) Longaway. Donald served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War. He was a carpenter and fulfilled his lifelong dream of building his own home. He enjoyed hunting, fishing , traveling and dancing. Family members include his wife, Rachel (Eaton) Longaway whom he married June 6, 1958 of Brandon, two daughters, Tammy Collins and her husband Paul and their three children of Bath, NH and Terry Toppins and her husband SMike* and their two children of Monument, CO; five sisters, Evelyn Garrow of Mount Holly, Rachel Tenney of East Bethel, Kay Powers of Cornwall, Maggie Palmer of East Middlebury, and Shirley Bougor of Wilton, NY; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother John Longaway. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 2 PM at Hancock Village Cemetery, Hancock with Rev. Wayne Holman of Hancock Community Church officiating.
