Donald Don Joseph Kenyon 85 died Monday November 16, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Born January 10, 1930 in Burlington and raised by his foster parents Henry Kenyon and Eva (Dague0 Kenyon. He was a graduate of Burlington High School class of 1948.
He enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. After returning from the war he married Marie Bourdon June 17, 1953 in Middlebury.
Don was a member of the V.F.W. post # 7823 of Middlebury and the Middlebury American Legion.
He was a businessman and had owned the Sears Roebuck store in Brandon for many years and several other local businesses; he also had been an engineer for the Howe Scale Company in Rutland.
Don enjoyed cut glass work, gardening, history, politics and was an avid animal lover.
He is survived by his daughter, Lee-Ann Kenyon of Middlebury, by his Brother-in-laws, Francis Angier, Andre Bourdon and wife Betsy, sister-in-laws, Rachel Codding, Laurie Wetmore, Louise Seith and husband Sandy and Rena Kindergan. Also by several nieces and nephews.
Don was predeceased by his foster parents and his twin sister Mildred Fleig
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday November 19, 2015 from 4-6 P.M. at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, located at 117 south main street, Middlebury.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday November 20, 2015 at 11 A.M. at St. Marys Catholic Church Middlebury with the Rev. William Beaudin as the Celebrant.
Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
