Donald Chief Goodrich 84, died Saturday morning March 30, 2013 at his home after a brief illness with his family at his side.
He was born June 10, 1928 in Salisbury, Vermont the son of the late Wilbur and Irma (Douglas) Goodrich.
Chief married the late Mildred (Phelps) Goodrich on September 3, 1949 in Chittenden, VT. Together with his wife they operated the Goodrich Farm in Salisbury since 1955.
He enjoyed family gatherings and especially his trips hunting and working on his property in Illinois with family and close friends.
He is survived by his son, Ernie Goodrich & his wife Leeann of Salisbury, his three daughters, Donna Lawton & her husband Henry of Bridport, Debbie Goodrich of Salisbury and Penny Supernaw & her husband Scott of Salisbury, by his ten grandchildren and his eight (soon to be nine) great-grandchildren.
Chief was predeceased by his wife Mildred on April 5, 2009, a daughter Roxanne, and an infant.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday April 5, 2013 at 1:30 PM at the Salisbury Congregational Church. The Rev. John Grivetti pastor will officiate.
Burial will follow in West Side Cemetery in Salisbury.
