BRANDON- Dawn M. Stevens, 76, died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Middlebury September 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Harold M. and Evelyn E. (Coursey) Stevens.
Dawn was a graduate of Middlebury High School, Class of 1954, a homemaker and had been initially employed by Chittenden Trust and later Chittenden Bank. She retired in 1991.
She had resided in Brandon for the past 11 years and had previously resided in Middlebury. She attended the Bridport Congregational Church. She was a strong Christian woman devoted to her afternoon prayer time. Dawn was foremost a loving and caring mother and grandmother.
She was an avid reader, bird watcher, and gardener.
Surviving family members include four daughters, Kim E. Hescock and her husband Jonathan of Cornwall, Carolyn M. Costello and her husband John Hamilton of Brandon, Kelly A. Turk and her husband Matthew of Santa Barbara, CA, and Jane S. Costello of Shoreham; one son, John P. Costello and his wife Sylvia of San Diego, CA; four brothers, Ronald Stevens of Cornwall, Rodney Stevens of Umatilla, FL, Robert Stevens of Fallsington, PA, and Harold Stevens of St. Petersburg, FL; 10 grandchildren, Judson Hescock, Emily Hescock, Sawyer Hescock, Tulley Hescock, Chase Cameron, Blake Cameron, Mikka Cameron , Hannah Turk, Matthew Price Turk, and Shannon Raboteau; one great grandchild, Conrad Moses Cameron; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Stevens and a grandson Ira Hescock.
Calling hours will be Friday, December 7, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury. The funeral service will be conducted at 10 AM Saturday at the Bridport Congregational Church with the Rev. Tim Franklin, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Cornwall.
