Obituary

David Harold DAvignon 75, died Thursday evening September 29, 2016 at Porter Medical center from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born January 23, 1941 in Weybridge, Vt the son of Joseph and Mary Rose (Shackett) DAvignon. He attended school locally and later worked for his family at D'Avignon Garage / Weybridge Garage. He served in the United States Army. David worked for many years as a foreman for Emilo Building Supplies. He enjoyed , fishing, working in the garden and working on cars and lawn maintenance. Even in retirement he was a hard worker who was never idle. He enjoyed spending time with family. He was a generous and loving man, and always the first to help others, even at times when he himself had nothing. David was always a cheerful man who never had a shortage of jokes. He was a member of the Middlebury American Legion. He is survived by his best friend Ruth D'Avignon , children, Jeanine Gina DAvignon and husband Rick Smith of Auburn, ME and David DAvignon of Gainesville, FL., Grandson, Josh Smith of Auburn, ME, brother, James DAvignon of Weybridge, four sisters, Georgiana Bobar of Springfield, Rita Armell of Vergennes, Mary Dasler of Hialeah ,FL and Theresa Turner of Poultney, VT; Also by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers and sisters, Robert DAvignon, Joseph DAvignon, Theordore DAvignon, Leonard DAvignon, Peter DAvignon, Louis DAvignon, Francis DAvignon, Clement D'Avignon, Doris Smith, and Grace Shandrow and son, Paul D'Avignon. A service will be held Monday, October 10th, 2016, at 2PM with a Celebration of Life at the Middlebury American Legion. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Middlebury American Legion. Arrangements are under the direction of the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home.
