A beautiful soul has departed this earth.

Coliene was named after her father's Dutch friend from boot camp in the 1950s. She was as unique as her name, with an artist's perspective on life and a rare balance of brilliance and determination inherited from her parents and grandparents.

Growing up in Nichols Connecticut, Coliene excelled in art and poetry classes at school and later majored in Journalism at Syracuse University. Her family recognized her remarkable capabilities and hoped she would join the family business, Moore Special Tool Company, but her passion was always art. Luck would strike while working at a restaurant in Schenectady, NY when she met Victor and Sherry Silva and found her calling crafting handwrought jewelry as a silversmith and goldsmith. Under their tutelage she blossomed and eventually found her own unique perspective inspired by the beauty that surrounded her. She carefully selected stones and took the step to begin her own business, creating signature pieces such as her grape clusters, angel fish, and intricate trees. Family and friends have been deeply moved by her creations. Coliene kept the recipient foremost in her mind as she crafted each piece, taking inspiration both from touching stories and the natural world to give each one meaning.

In 1983 she and her husband John moved near Brandon, VT, to Hubbardton to take on the roles of caretakers of High Pond, a former mini ski resort for the locals of Brandon. It was a 300 acre estate surrounded by hundreds of acres of nature conservancy land. Four years later, their son Dane was born. Coliene knew and understood that this environment, with its pristine ponds and lakes, brooks, forests, meadows and even an actual ski slope in their backyard was the perfect environment to raise her son. She was right. Dane thrived in this environment and she always put him first, supporting his many endeavors like cross country track, martial arts, skiing, and nature.

In 1999, Coliene was one of 12 artists who founded the Brandon Art Guild (BAG). She was fiercely determined to see this organization come to life and was an instrumental force in keeping it afloat during its early years and its continuation to this day.

Her creative drive never faltered throughout her life. Even as age made the intricate work of jewelry difficult, she found creative expression through cooking, often drifting off to sleep with a cookbook at her side. She worked magic making plant-based dishes.

Beyond creative pursuits, family was a priority for Coliene. She bought stock in Ben & Jerry's for each of her siblings, and so began an epic yearly tradition. The Ben & Jerry's Festival was a free, Woodstockesque affair, and even the little ones remember it to this day: a whole day of eating ice cream, actually mingling with Ben and Jerry, and live performances from the likes of Natalie Merchant, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and David Crosby.

She also made frequent trips to CT, always packed with coolers of thoughtful, creative dishes for her parents during the later and most difficult years of their lives. She called her mother every day without fail. They had a special connection. She understood her and connected with her like no other.

In her later years, as her health continued to decline, Coliene's fierce determination prevailed. In the care facility where she lived, she faced each day with a goal: to live as fully as she could and surround herself with the beauty of her art and the comforts of her earlier life, finding creative (and admittedly illicit) ways to prepare her favorite foods, grow her culinary herbs and beautiful plants, and arrange her room so it actually worked for her. Despite her physical and cognitive challenges, her sense of humor stayed intact, and she remained a determined, very verbal advocate for her own health and care until the very end. An indomitable spirit.

Her family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to the staff at the Helen Porter Rehabilitative and Care Facility, Porter Medical Center and the medical staff of the UVM system for the care of their beloved mother, sister, and aunt and to Connectlife for honoring Coliene’s final wishes.

She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Sarah Moore.

She is survived by her cherished son, Dane Moore Landrigan of Goshen, VT, her stepson, Michael Landrigan of Hoboken, NJ, former husband, John Landrigan of Park City, Utah, her devoted siblings, Wayne “Skipper”Moore, Jr. (Elene) of Nichols CT, Jennifer Moore Puffenberger (Jeffrey) of Round Hill, VA, John Moore (Kimberly) of Stratford, CT and David Moore (Janet Fairchild) of Monkton, VT as well as 14 nieces and nephews, 13 grand nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Sanderson Funeral Home, 117 South Main Street, Middlebury, VT 05753. Following the service, the family would like to invite friends to join in a celebration of life at The Notte, Two Brothers Tavern, 86 Main Street, Middlebury, VT 05753, directly following the service from 5:30-7:30 pm..
