Middlebury, VT Coleen F. Beck Coleen Fitzsimmons Beck, 63, died Sunday September 29, 2013 at her home in Middlebury. She was born June 14, 1950 in Rutland, VT the daughter of the late Robert and Patricia (Wallett) Fitzsimmons. Coleen was a graduate of Rice Memorial High School, Class of 1968 and the University Of Vermont in 1972. She married William Beck in Middlebury in June of 1982. Coleen was a real estate agent and former co-owner of Bill Beck Real Estate. She was awarded the prestigious Coldwell Banker Diamond award in 2011. She was an active member of the Middlebury community and volunteered for many organizations including Porter Hospital Auxiliary Board, Hospice Volunteer Services Board, Addison County Chamber of Commerce and the Frog Hollow Craft Center. She was a former Chair of the Addison County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and in 1999 was recognized by that organization as Citizen of the Year. Her generous service to the community and others will be forever missed. She enjoyed traveling, sailing, golfing, skiing and spending time with family and friends. She was a lover of dogs and all animals. She is survived by her husband Bill Beck of Middlebury, her step son, Billy Beck and his wife Jenna of Victor, Idaho, her siblings, Robert F. Fitzsimmons and his wife Pat of East Montpelier, Mark P. Fitzsimmons and his wife Maggie of Alexandria, VA and Lisa Quinlan and her husband Mark of South Burlington; her step grandchildren, Willy and Jack Beck of Victor Idaho, an aunt; Mary Rita Wallett and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Friday October 4, 2013 at 11 A.M. at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main Street Middlebury with the Rev. Gary Lewis, pastor of the Vergennes Congregational Church officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday October 4, 2013 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in Middlebury Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Waybury Inn in East Middlebury at 1 PM.
