Cheryl Barnard Weseman, 71, died December 5, 2017, after a nine-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family in Orwell.
She was born in Montclair, New Jersey, on April 11, 1946 to William, Sr. and Jean Barnard. Cheryls faith and family were her biggest loves. She graduated from Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana in 1968 with a degree in biology. In addition to being a full-time mother and homemaker, Cheryl spent many years as a kitchen planner at IKEA. She relished time in her flower garden, her home, and with her dog, Allie.
She was an elder at the Bridport Congregational Church, a member of the Orwell Fortnightly Club and a long-time volunteer at the Brandon Public Library.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 14 years, Wayne Weseman, at home; her three children, Katherine Eisenhower (Angela), of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Matthew Eisenhower (Christine) and Rebecca Eisenhower Leach (Perry), both of Ketchikan, Alaska; grandchildren Josh, Nate, Caleb and Andrew Eisenhower, Lexie and Lenny Leach, Gabe and Tristan Dahl, and Beckett and Cora Johnson. She is survived by siblings William Barnard, Jr. (Susan), James Barnard, Brenda Adams, and Nancy Craig (Dave). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and also former husband, James Eisenhower. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Craig Barnard and nephew Sam Adams.
Viewing will be held Monday, December 11, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 S. Main St., Middlebury.
A Christian funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Bridport Congregational Church, 55 Middle Street, Bridport, with the Rev. Tim Franklin officiating. Internment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery, Orwell.
The family would like to thank Addison County Home Health & Hospice and Dr. Eisemann at the Foley Cancer Center in Rutland for their compassionate care.
