Early Saturday morning, February 25, 2012, God looked around the mountain and observed many cords of wood, cut and split. The pantry shelves and freezer were stocked and the misfit pets in the barn were content. He noticed your tired face, worn and gnarled hands and he knew it was time for your body to rest.
Cecil Morse left behind his wife, Ramona Peck, of 50 years and his home in Ripton, where he was happiest. His knowledge of life and passion for the outdoors had been shared with all. He loved his pets, his time at the woodpile, gardening, fishing, sugaring and woodworking. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Judy Hayes and her companion, David Phelps, her children, Allison and Brian; his son, Dan and his wife Melinda, and their children, Heather, Amanda, Megan and Danielle.
Cecils family will be planning a celebration of his life at dandelion time. Anyone wishing to make a contribution in Cecils name may send them to the New Haven Congregational Church, PO Box 6, New Haven or the Addison County Humane Society Shelter, 236 Boardman, Middlebury.
