Beverly I. Duchesne, 79, passed away unexpectedly at her home Saturday, October 14, 2016. She was born, December 3, 1936 in Bridport, VT, the youngest daughter of the late Kenneth & Rena (Whittemore) Murray. On July 28, 1956, she married James Duchesne and traveled with him during his 16 year service in the United States Air Force until his death in 1972. She then returned to Middlebury with their two sons and took a job with the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a Collection official where she dedicated 32 years until her retirement. Beverly loved spending time with family and cooking big meals. She had a love for dogs and spent time with her most recent companion, Toby. Beverly also enjoyed Bingo, computer games and watching war movies and mystery shows. She is survived by a son, Darren Duchesne and his wife Sheila Clark of Malone, NY; a daughter-in-law, Frannie Duchesne of Geneva, NY; a special niece, Sharon Whitman and her companion, Alfred Churchwell of East Middlebury; Grandchildren: James Duchesne, Lisa (Duchesne) Hemenway, Sara Duchesne and Sara Clark; Great grandchildren: Harrison, Dylan, Jada, Emilee, Harmony and Olivia. Sisters: Molly Flagg, Patricia Austin, Nancy Abbott and Shirley Dwire. Brothers: Kenneth and Paul Murray. She was predeceased by her husband, James; a son, Dale; a sister Betty Smith, brothers: Bill, Jim & Jack Murray. Calling hours will be held at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 10-11AM, Funeral service at 11AM. Burial will immediately follow at St. Marys Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Homeward Bound or the American Red Cross.
