Middlebury, VT Bertha H. LaPell Mrs. Bertha Bert H. Lapell, 85, formerly of Shoreham, Benson and Poultney, died Friday afternoon, May 30, 2008 at Helen Porter Health & Rehab after a long illness. She was born January 11, 1923 in Rochester, VT the daughter of the late Edgar & Cassie (Boyton) Hutchins. Bertha was a former member of the Shoreham Congregational Church, and the Middlebury American Legion Auxiliary. She was a devoted and loved wife, mother and grandmother. Her family and home was her life. She worked in the hot lunch program in the Shoreham School system during the 1950s and was a housekeeper at Plattsburg Air Force Base in the 60s and 70s. She is survived by her loving daughter, Beatrice Beachie Williams & her husband Ken, of Bristol, her beloved granddaughter, Lee Cousino, of Forestdale, and grandson, Travis Robert Cousino, of Rutland, and her step grandson Keith Williams & his wife Sarah, and great-grandson Kolton ,of Georgia, VT., and several nieces & nephews. She is also survived by her step daughter, Marlene Bishop, of NY and by her two step sons , Lee Lapell & his wife Lori, of Ferrisburg & Wayne Lapell & his wife Molly, of Burlington. Also by many step grandchildren. She was predeceased by first husband Walter Bud Williams in 1959 and by her second husband Winston Winnie Lapell, by her sister, Ethel Peg Williams, also by her five brothers, Roland Rol, Fayette Jack, Earl, Fred and Dale Hutchins Graveside services will be held on Sunday June 8, 2008 at 1 PM in Lake View Cemetery in Shoreham. On Rte 74 West near Douglas Orchards. The Rev. Richard White Will Officiate.
