Arthur F. Blaise 83, died early Thursday morning October 6, 2011 at Porter Medical center. He was born December 13, 1927 in Panton the son of the late George & Elsie May (Perkins) Blaise. Art was a member of the Cornwall Congregational Church, Cornwall Central Cemetery Association having been the caretaker until the time of his death. He was a longtime member of the Cornwall Fire Department which he was proud of. He enjoyed working in orchards and loved kids. Art is survived by his two children, Brian Blaise, of Cornwall and Elsie Johnson, of Middlebury. Also by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Alice (LaPete) Blaise who died May 16, 2008, also by his infant son Arthur F. Skippy Blaise II , by his brothers, George Blaise Jr., William Blaise and Robert Blaise, by his sisters, Sophie James, Louise Bougor, Elizabeth Ricketts, Jean Mitchell and Dorothy Lussier. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday October 9, 2011 from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home located at 117 South Main Street, Middlebury. Funeral Services will be held at the Cornwall Congregational Church on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11 A.M. the Rev. Mary Kay Cavazos will be officiating. Burial to follow at Cornwall Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cornwall Volunteer Fire Department at 1952 Vermont Route 30 Cornwall, VT 05753 or to the Cornwall Central Cemetery at 2239 RT 30, Cornwall, VT 05753.
