Annette M. Hamlin 79, passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, surrounded by her loving husband, children, grandchildren and god daughter Ellie at Porter Medical Center. She was born December 20, 1937 in Burlington, VT, the daughter of Joseph and Madeline (Provost) Martin. Annette dedicated her life to the education of children. She held a Bachelors degree from Castleton State College and a Masters degree in education from UVM. She taught elementary school in the Addison County School District for many happy years building lasting relationships with students and colleagues alike. She was deeply respected by parents and community members. Annette was an active member of St. Marys Parish for over 50 years. She was an avid sports fan and great supporter of local teams. She was incredibly dedicated to her family and cherished the time she spent with her many grand and great grandchildren. After retirement, she and Paul enjoyed spending their time with family in Vermont, Florida and Idaho. Annette is survived by her devoted husband Paul of 60 years and her five children: Paul (Marybeth) of Pensacola, Fl., Jeannie (Randy) and Suzie (Terry) of Salisbury, Vt., Bill (Jackie) and Rob (Gwen) of Boise, Idaho. Siblings: Joe Martin, Carleen (David) Landry. Grandchildren: Randy Jr., Virginia, Rick, Bryan, Samantha, Mandy, Cassie, Kenny, Alyssa, Tyler , Taylor and ten Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Bobby and Reggie and a sister Joyce. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 4-7PM at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 So. Main St., Middlebury. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at St. Marys Catholic Church, 326 College St., Middlebury, VT at 8AM. The Rev. Luke Austin will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Annette Hamlin to ACSD, 49 Charles Ave, Middlebury (specify Mary Hogan Library).
