BRISTOL- Amanda J. Purinton , 57, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Fletcher-Allen Healthcare, Burlington, after a courageous battle with cancer with her daughter and sister by her side.
Born January 9, 1955 in Burlington, she was the daughter of the late Frank Goodrich, Sr. and Mary Ruth (Reece) Goodrich.
Amanda was a homemaker, having been a farmers wife for many years. She enjoyed cooking, being a 4-H leader in both craft and dairy, and caring for her mother and brother until her own illness. She was a member in the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She enjoyed science fiction and dancing at Jacques Barn.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Church.
Surviving family members include two daughters, April Purinton-Hill and her husband Gary of Bristol and Aliesha Purinton of Bristol; her mother Mary Goodrich, two brothers, Todd Goodrich and his wife Sylvia of New Haven and Frank Goodrich, Jr. of Leicester; three sisters, Mary Weremeichik and her husband Steve of Brandon, Frances Moran of Ohio and Dorothy McCarthy and husband Billy of PA; four grandchildren, Gus Hill, Maisy Hill, Jakob Hill and Charlie Hill, all of Bristol; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, sisters, Betty Weremeichik, Sandra Clark and Marie Clough and by a brother John Henry Goodrich.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM Friday, May 25, 2012 at Green Mount Cemetery, Starksboro with Rev. Albert Skip Baltz, pastor, St. Marys Church, Brandon officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
