Alice W. Ringer 87 formerly of Vergennes died Saturday evening August 2, 2014 at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. Born February 17, 1927 in Middletown Springs, VT., the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Gladys (Pickett) Wallace. Alice attended local school in Middletown Springs and was a graduate of Vergennes High School class of 1946. Alice was a clerk for Abrams Store in Middlebury. She was an avid walker and enjoyed walking around Vergennes and also enjoyed swimming, Alice was also an avid Bingo Player. Survivors are her sons, David J. Ringer (Mary) of Ferrisburgh and Raymond R. Ringer Jr. (Sandy), of Georgia, by her 3 granddaughters Dawn, Lori and Misty, 4 great-grandchildren, by her sisters, Agnes Wallace of Manchester, Audrey Fitzpatrick of Swanton, Alzina DeSantis of Rochester, Nella Colvin of Manchester and Amelia Fuller of Sunderland. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond R. Ringer Sr. who died in March 2006, by her parents and also her brothers Albert J. Wallace, Robert Wallace and David Joe Wallace, by her sisters, Arlene Wallace and Mary Corsi. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday August 5, 2014 from 5-7 P.M. at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main Street Middlebury. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday August 6, 2014 at10:30 A.M., at the Vergennes Methodist Church with the Rev. Jill Robinson officiating.
